I was in primary school when we lived in Amasya, I can remember clearly there. It was one of my favorite cities for me. However, unfortunately we had to come to Denizli my hometown after my father retired. At first, it was hard for me to get accustomed to Denizli because there are more differences than their similarities between these two cities.

If you ask the similarities with Denizli and Amasya, the first is that both Amasya people and Denizli people are hospitable also. They are friendly and trusty. If we look at as cities, like Denizli, Amasya has ambulatory. For example, in Amasya when someone gets bored, she/he can walk by eating sunflower seeds on ‘Yeşilırmak’ riverbank, and you can feel fresh air from the river especially at nightfall. For Denizli has also sights. For example, Incilipınar, Çamlık etc. You can go to Çamlık that is full of trees, to picnic with your friends or family in summer. The other similarity of these two cities is that Amasya is a beautiful city for tourist like Denizli. Amasya has a lot of historical artifacts like historical museum houses, the rock tombs of the kings, and Borabay Lake. Moreover, Denizli has Pamukkale is natural beauty, covered with white like cotton because of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water after all its name is Pamukkale.

Although they have some similarities, there are a lot of differences between Denizli and Amasya. The first difference is climate, Amasya is in Blacksea region, but Denizli is in the Aegean region, so for example, in summer Amasya has warm climate while Denizli is very hot. Apart from climate, in Amasya, transportation is very easy because Amasya is smaller than Denizli. You can go even the most remote locations by two minibuses in a short time. There isn’t traffic problem unlike Denizli. In Denizli, traffic is a big problem. The next difference is about source of income of these cities. Amasya is developed in agriculture, undeveloped in terms of industry; in contrast, Denizli is known its industry.

As a conclusion, Amasya and Denizli are generally very different from each other. For some people Denizli is good city, but some people prefer Amasya. Everyone is searching for properties in a city that is different. If you ask me, I like Amasya more than Denizli. Although Amasya isn’t as developed as Denizli, I think Amasya is a wonderful city for healthy and peaceful life. However, we can’t ignore the development Denizli. To sum up, both cities have their own beauty.
